Spire Proxy Host List

On December 26th, 2011 hackers Chpwn and Ryan Petrich released the Spire Cydia tweak to the BigBoss repo. Now, in case you have not heard of the Spire Cydia tweak it is a fully-functional port of Siri for older models of the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. While, the Spire Cydia tweak is a complete port of Siri it does has some limitations – you need to have access to an iPhone 4S and be able to setup your own Proxy Server.
Hit the Facebook LIKE button if you would like to know when a free Spire Proxy Host or Siri Proxy Server is released.

Spire Proxy Host list
If you do not have an iPhone 4S or find it too complicated to setup a Spire we are presuming there will be some individuals who will make their own Spire Proxy servers public. Thus, this page from iJailbreak.com is dedicated to Spire Proxy Hosts that you can enter into your Spire configuration in the Settings.app.

December 27th, 2011 Update: I have heard rumors of certain Spire proxy hosts starting to make their way across the internet, and I have even spotted some of you guys mentioning a couple in the comments section. The problem that I see with some of the first Spire proxy hosts launching is too many people connecting to them (making them unreliable and not worth your time). The only way I see Spire Proxy hosts becoming available is if people charge money to rent spaces on a dedicated Spire Proxy server. This would ensure not too much traffic is associated with one iPhone 4S identifier and would make things work reliably. To be honest, this is how I think we will see some of the first Spire Proxy servers released. Regardless of this fact, however, I ensure you I will update this page with any form of Spire Proxy hosts that becomes available so stay tuned (at this time I still have not found any). Please contact us if you come across one by clicking here.
December 29th, 2011 Update:  Spire Proxy hosts are taking longer than I personally anticipated to surface. I have seen a lot of Spire Proxies circling around the internet, but most of them do not last longer than an hour. The biggest reason I am updating the Spire Proxy Hosts list is to warn you not to trust website claiming they will give you a Spire Proxy Host space for a rental fee. I made the mistake of posting one of these websites on this list and it turned out to be a scam. Now, to make things worse  a lot of scammers are trying to take advantage of people to make money off fake claims. We will be the first to let you know of a legit Spire Proxy Host, so please stay tuned and protect yourself from wasting your money.
January 1st, 2012 Update: I have not given an official update for some time now and this is because I have not come across a Spire Proxy Hots that has actually worked for myself. The closest I have gotten Spire to actually work is with the Spire Hosts I posted earlier  by Root Hacks, but even they failed to work in the end. The best advice I can give anyone waiting for a Spire Proxy host is to be patient until a paid Proxy  server is available. There is absolutely no way a free Spire Proxy host could operate unless someone developed software to limit the amount of users connected to the server. Please stay tuned as another update will come soon.
January 3rd, 2012 Update: We have recently written a detailed how to guide on how to create your own Spire Proxy server if you own an iPhone 4S or can get access to an iPhone 4S. This will actually allow you to get Spire to work as you will be creating your own private server. Click here to follow this how to guide.
January 29th, 2011 Update: Thanks to user feedback I can confirm that iCrackr’s server is indeed legit. They charge $20 a year and at this time there has been little issues with downtime associated with them. Another paid Spire Proxy host that I have been hearing good things about is iModZones server, which also charges $20 a year. If you are looking into purchasing a paid Spire Proxy server spot I would purchase it from one of the two website I have just mentioned.

How To: Install Siri On iPhone 4/3GS, iPod Touch 4G/3G, iPad 1G Running iOS 5.1.1 With SiriPort v5.1.1-3

With the iOS 5.1.1 Untethered Jailbreak being released recently in the form of Absinthe 2.0 there are nearly one million new Jailbroken iOS devices. I am sure one of the reasons why so many people Jailbroke their iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad was to get Siri functioning. Unfortunately the most popular methods of installing Siri on Jailbroken iOS devices, Spire is not compatible with the iOS 5.1.1 firmware.
SiriPort iOS 5.1.1
For those who are still wanting to get Siri on their older generation iOS device then you will be glad to know there is an alternative. This alternative is called SiriPort and will allow you to get Siri functioning without the need of a proxy server. Meaning you can use Apple’s personal assistant, Siri on the iPhone 4 (GSM, CDMA), iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G and iPad 1G running the iOS 5.1.1 firmware without iPhone 4S activation keys.
SiriPort was recently updated to version 5.1.1-3 as well to support better connectivity and responsiveness. As such SiriPort really is one of your best options to get Siri fully functioning on older generation iOS devices. Thus, in this tutorial you will learn how to install SiriPort to your iPhone 4/3GS, iPod Touch 4G/3G or iPad 1G running the iOS 5.1.1 firmware.

Install SiriPort On iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad

WARNING: Ensure you back up your iOS device before following this how to guide. Although a lot of people have had success installing SiriPort it has been known to cause endless boot loops, which result in having to do a factory reset to your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. This actually happened to me when trying to install SiriPort on my iPhone 4 so proceed at your own discretion.
Step 1) The first thing you will obviously need to do is Jailbreak your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad Untethered on the iOS 5.1.1 firmware. For those of you who would like a helping hand with this please click here.
Step 2)Next you will need to add the official SiriPort repo. To do this launch Cydia, go into the Manage tab, followed by the sources section and then tap Edit > Add and type in the following repository shown in the quoted area below:
http://repo.siriport.ru
Step 3)With the repository successfully added go into Cydia’s Search tab and search for:
SiriPort (original)
Step 4)Once you see SiriPort (original) on the search results you will need to tap on it and install it to your iOS device. One thing to keep in mind before installing it however, is that it is a large package (nearly 100MB) so you will want to ensure you are connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Step 5)With SiriPort now installed on your iOS device you will need to launch Safari and go to the following URL:
http://siriport.ru/siriport_ru_original.pem
Step 6)After visiting the URL shown above you will need to download the certificate file, email it to yourself and then open the certificate and install it to your iOS device. Once the certificate has been installed you will need to reboot your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
Step 7)Now simply invoke Siri and say “Hi”. If Siri does not respond in a few minutes you will need to reboot and repeat this process until you get Siri to reply to you. Once Siri does reply to you it is working and you now have Siri functioning on your older generation iOS device running the iOS 5.1.1 firmware.
Note: SirPort is used by a lot of people and if you are not having any luck getting a response from Siri it could simply be because the SiriPort servers are overloaded.
If you followed all the steps correctly and met the requirements outlined previously you should have gotten Siri fully functioning on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad running the iOS 5.1.1 firmware. Please share your experience with SiriPort and any questions or further thoughts you may have in the comments section below.

BiteSMS v6.3 Released Bringing About Themes And Many Other Improvements

One of the main reasons I continue to Jailbreak my iPhone is for a Cydia tweak called BiteSMS. You see, BiteSMS is a powerhouse tweak that takes the stock Messages app and injects it with a dose of steroids. Probably the most widely recognized feature of BiteSMS is the ability to reply to text messages from anywhere within iOS without actually having to launch the stock Messages app. It does’t stop at quick reply however, BiteSMS supercharges your iPhone’s messaging capabilities and really is something that needs to be experienced.

FireCore Teases aTV Flash (Black) 2.0 Beta: New Menu, Integrated Search, Categories, And More

aTV Flash is a userfriendly mod to the first and second generation Apple TVs. The commercial software package adds powerful features to Apple’s set-top box, within Apple’s excellent GUI. These features include additional formats, lastFM integration, a web browser, and automatic cover art and metadata for your personal content. James Abeler, director of FireCore, posted a preview of aTV Flash (black)’s version 2.0 beta on the FireCore forums. (Black) is the version that supports the second generation Apple TV.
aTV (black)’s newly added search function.
The preview screenshots include a new main menu layout and library view, the option to browse content by category, as well as an integrated search and search results page.
The to our eyes, the teased main menu layout doesn’t look changed. Maybe we’re missing something but it still looks like glossy buttons arranged in rows of four on a brushed metal background. The revolutionary new feature is supposed to be the library view, which will include drop down selections for categories like Movies by Director and Movies By Genre, but you wouldn’t know it from the screenshots.
The search feature, however, looks genuinely appealing. If you have a large library amassed on a NAS, selecting content by scrolling down on a list is sub-optimal. My only concern is that the keypad layout is alphabetical and not the traditional QWERTY keyboard seen on most devices, which can cause a clumsy transition. This issue can thankfully be bypassed by using the Remote app on an iPhone or iPad.
If you want to try out the beta for aTV Flash on your second generation Apple TV, you can fill out FireCore’s survey. If they need you as a beta tester, you will be contacted via email. Supposedly there are many more improvements within the 2.0 beta.

MissionBoard Cydia Tweak Updated, Finally Replaces Stock App Switcher

Remember the recently released Cydia tweak MissionBoard? The tweak that brought Joost Van Der Ree’s app switcher concept to reality has now been updated and is ready to replace your stock iOS App Switcher.
MissionBoard Cydia Tweak
The previous version of MissionBoard could only show you the apps running frozen in the background, but there wasn’t any way to kill specific app. With MissionBoard version 1.2.2, which is now available in Cydia, you can kill apps by tapping and holding the app card. The apps wiggle and you can kill them by hitting the delete button. The tweak has also been optimized and is much faster than before. The developer has also taken care of certain Activator related bugs.
MissionBoard 1.2.2 can now truly replace your stock App Switcher. Try the latest update and tell us what you think of it. Is your Double tap action going to use this App Switcher or the stock one?

Add The Status Bar To iOS App Switcher With The App Switcher Status Bar Cydia Tweak

Here’s a new tweak, which in spite of being very simple, can sometimes come in handy. If you’ve noticed, whenever you double-tap the home button to open the multitasking app switcher in iOS, the status bar on top disappears. That in-turn, hides the clock, the network bars, battery percentage etc.

Like I said, generally this is nothing important, but it still may be worth a try if you think it could be useful to show the status bar when you’re in the App Switcher. That’s basically everything this tweak does, it shows you the missing status bar, right on top of the app switcher. This way, you can tell the time, battery percentage, while you’re switching apps.

App Switcher Status Bar is available in the ModMyi repo for $0.99. I’m not sure, if you should get this tweak, but to each their own. I for one, can survive not knowing the time or my battery percentage when using the App Switcher. Try it out and give us your opinion on this tweak.
